Whether you're preparing to audition for ArtXecute's production of Matilda the Musical, returning to the stage after years away, or simply looking for a fun way to challenge yourself, our Adult Audition Boot Camp is for you!At ArtXecute, we believe the skills developed through the performing arts extend far beyond the stage. Through expert instruction, teamwork, creative expression, and performance training, students build confidence, discipline, communication skills, and resilience that will serve them in school, on stage, and in life.

This interactive workshop is designed to help adults build confidence, strengthen their audition skills, and gain a better understanding of what happens in the audition room. No matter your experience level, you'll leave better prepared—and more confident—than when you arrived.

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the day, participants will receive practical instruction in:

• Acting techniques

• Vocal audition preparation

• Dance audition basics

• Audition etiquette and professionalism

• Cold readings and character choices

• Building confidence under pressure

• What directors are really looking for in an audition

You'll also have opportunities to practice your skills in a supportive, encouraging environment and receive constructive feedback from experienced theatre professionals.

• Former performers returning to the stage

• Anyone who wants to improve their acting, singing, or dancing skills—or simply have a great time trying something new!

No prior theatre experience is required.

What to Bring

• Comfortable clothing you can move in

• Closed-toe shoes (dance shoes are welcome but not required)

• A water bottle

• A notebook and pen (optional)

Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Put It Into Practice

We'll wrap up the day with a mock audition designed to simulate the real thing. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in front of the group and receive supportive, constructive feedback from the instructors.

Our goal isn't perfection—it's preparation.

You'll walk away with a better understanding of what to expect on audition day, greater confidence in your abilities, and practical tips you can immediately put to use.

Whether you're auditioning for Matilda the Musical or another production down the road, you'll leave with skills that will serve you well every time you step into an audition room.
